“This version of SANFIC has been very special for us, since making the decision not to cancel despite the pandemic it meant a great challenge. We wanted to carry out the festival in this digital format so that people from all over the country could enjoy films with diverse content and socially relevant themes, which often do not reach movie theaters and which, even more so with the health contingency, would have been very difficult to see otherwise, “said Francisca Florenzano, Executive Director of Fundación CorpArtes.
On the last day of the festival, which ends this Sunday, August 23, people will be able to enjoy of the 16 films in the SANFIC Educa section, as well as the scheduled films of the Masters of Cinema sections, which are released at 6:00 am: “Sorry We Missed You” (United Kingdom), by Ken Loach, screened at the Cannes, San Sebastián and Toronto festivals , and winner of the Audience Award for Best European Film at the San Sebastián Festival and “Nomad: In The Footsteps Of Bruce Chatwin” (United Kingdom), by Werner Herzog, where the director makes a journey around the world, including Patagonia Chilean, in honor of his friend, writer and adventurer Bruce Chatwin. This documentary was featured at festivals like Tribeca and Telluride.
“We have had a great week of national and international cinema to share and accompany our audience from all over the country, connecting it with the new productions of incredible Chilean and world filmmakers.
