Voitāne previously represented the club of the strongest championship in Cyprus “Apollon Ladies”, but next season she will be the first Latvian in the German Bundesliga.
The club reports that the Latvian has arrived in the German team at the beginning of this week, but on Wednesday he went to a five-day training camp together with “Meppen”.
“Sandra is a dynamic, purposeful and growth-oriented football player, who will help us to create a different game in the attack. We will continue to look for additions to the line-up,” said Maria Reisingere, the team’s sports director.
The Meppen team will debut in the Bundesliga Championship next season.
The 20-year-old Voitāne has previously represented the Latvian U-17 and U-19 national teams in his career, as well as has already managed to play 33 games in the adult national team.
Voitāne spent almost the entire match on the court in the last two qualifying games of the 2021 European Championship against Hungary and Iceland.
The midfielder debuted in the national team in February 2015, when he was only 15 years old.
