Stevie Agnecya, Samuel Rizal’s ex-wife, tells the story of becoming a convert.
In a video uploaded on his social media account, Stevie tells of the beginning of his spiritual journey to convert to Islam.
The story begins with an interfaith marriage with Anggi Pratama, her husband who is a pilot for a well-known airline in the country.
“I used to be different from my husband,” wrote Stevie Agnecya while affixing a cross emoji and the pronunciation of Allah.
In the video that has been watched more than 3 million times, Stevie admits that he has never been forced to believe in deciding to become a Muslim.
“There was never any compulsion we both respect each other even though at that time we were different,” he wrote.
Furthermore, Stevie admitted that he was determined to embrace Islam because of his own choice.
Of course, her decision to change her faith has brought pros and cons among the public, but the mother of three is grateful that her family is willing to accept it.
“Thank God I finally chose to convert to Islam because of my heart’s choice. There were many who blasphemed, the pros and cons but most importantly my family accepted my choice,” he said.
About five years after converting to Islam, Stevie feels his life has become calmer and happier.
“But the more I come here, the more calm and happy I am because of Allah,” concluded Stevie Agnecya.
The post also received many comments, one of which was from Baim Wong, who prayed for Stevie.
