Podle analytické společnosti International Data Corporation (IDC) se celosvětový odbyt chytrých telefonů ⁤v prvním čtvrtletí letošního roku ‌meziročně zvýšil o 7,8 procenta na 289,4 milionu přístrojů. Samsung se vrátil na vedoucí pozici na trhu s‌ dodávkami 60,1 milionu přístrojů, což představuje podíl na trhu 20,8 procenta. Apple zaznamenal pokles dodávek o 9,6 procenta na 50,1 milionu přístrojů a podíl na trhu 17,3 procenta. Třetí příčku obsadila společnost Xiaomi s dodávkami 40,8 milionu přístrojů a podílem na trhu 14,1 procenta.

V porovnání s předchozím rokem se nejvíce zvýšil odbyt společnosti Transsion o 84,9 procenta na 28,5 milionu přístrojů. Naopak největší ⁣pokles zaznamenal Apple. Celkově trh‌ s​ chytrými telefony rostl a vedoucí pozice se opět dostala do rukou‍ Samsungu.
