Is that better? In +/- 10 to 15 years, these remote controls will be unusable because the battery is dead, which makes the TV virtually unusable (Apart from the fact that it is a Smart TV and this has a limited lifespan anyway, Connected Device Iig ..)

My father uses in the attic, where he has made his puzzle room, an old Samsung TV which is HD Ready on 32″. Yes yes, a real 1366×768 resolution! which is from around 2010 if I get it for me. That TV it still works fine and does fine to put on a film or the like when it is puzzling. bought a new one for myself and only had this TV on loan.. but even after that it still works fine!

To be honest I don’t see the Samsung remote control lasting that long and this battery doesn’t seem easy to replace… wonder why they couldn’t do it like you can with the Pine64. Now this is a phone. But the principle is the same. You may get a little less capacity out of it, but if something ever happened to it, it can be replaced and that seems pretty important to me.

If you have a good battery, they will last longer than a few months. then you are working diligently to operate the TV. These remote controls eventually end up on the recycling heap, when they actually don’t have to be.

This is much worse for the environment. Because at that moment you have to process both the entire remote control but also the battery pack instead of just the batteries.
