Samsung announces €449 Windows laptop with Snapdragon soc – Computer – News

Samsung has presented the Galaxy Book Go and Go 5G. Both laptops have Qualcomm Snapdragon-socs on board, unlike the Galaxy Book Pro models with Intel processors. The Book Go does not appear to be released in the Benelux.

The laptop has a 14″ LCD with a 16:9 screen of 1920×1080 pixels. The more expensive announced in April Galaxy Book Pro models have an OLED screen. The soc is a Snapdragon 7c Gen 2, the cheaper of the Qualcomm socs for laptops. The models have 4G. There will also be a 5G version later this year, but Samsung is still keeping the specifications and design under wraps.

In addition to the Snapdragon soc, the laptop has 4GB or 8GB of lpddr4x memory and 64GB or 128GB of eUFS storage. The laptop has two USB-C ports and a single USB-A port, in addition to a microSD card slot and a 3.5mm jack. There is also a slot for a nano SIM card. The Book Go weighs 1.38 kg and measures 32.4 x 22.5 centimeters and is 14.9 mm thick. The battery has a capacity of 42.3Wh, charging is possible via USB-C with 25W.

The laptop seems to be coming out in Europe and the US. However, there is no Dutch announcement yet, but the laptop will be released in Germany, among others. That will happen next week and it will cost 449 euros upon release. The 5G version, which is only known to have the Snapdragon 8c Gen 2 soc, will be released later this year. They are not the first Samsung laptops with a Snapdragon soc. Earlier, for example, the Galaxy Book S appeared with a Qualcomm soc, after which he also appeared with an Intel Lakefield processor.
