The medical check-up for the 33-year-old, who was slowed down by cardiac arrhythmias in 2019, is scheduled for Sunday morning. After the check, Khedira is supposed to sign. The defensive midfielder moved into the world of football in 2010 from the Bundesliga, in which he won the German championship with VfB Stuttgart in 2007. After more than ten years at Real Madrid and Juventus Turin, it looks like he’s returning to the Bundesliga.
Khedira kept in touch with Berlin
He had always kept his contacts in Berlin. For example, in January a year ago, Khedira appeared during the Olympic qualification of the German national volleyball team in the Max-Schmeling-Halle.
This season, the defensive midfielder under coach Andrea Pirlo has not even played at Juventus Turin. So far he has won five championship and three cup titles in Italy and has been used 145 times at Juve. He scored 21 goals and prepared 13 goals. There had already been media reports last summer that Paris Saint-Germain was interested in Khedira. A move to the Premier League, the MLS or the Bundesliga was also up for debate, free of charge.
