Announced a week ago, the framing letter for the new Saint-Malo – Dinan hospital medical project was signed on Wednesday 3 February 2021 at the town hall of Dinan (Côtes-d’Armor).
A new technical platform
While three scenarios were envisaged for the future of the hospital, a study supported by the ARS defined the needs and the main lines of this project. A new technical platform should see the light of day in the coming years.
For the moment, the place has not yet been chosen. The group is giving itself six months from today to choose the final location of this new establishment.
Maintenance of the other three hospitals
While some feared a closure of the René-Pleven hospital center in Dinan, it is maintained and fully modernized. An envelope of more than 60 million euros is planned for these renovations. Recently rebuilt, the Cancale hospital is also preserved.
For its part, the center of Saint-Malo should be destroyed, then replaced by a new, more modest establishment, not necessarily on the same site.
The total amount of all these operations is estimated at 400 million euros.
