“Ryanair wants to buy one hundred Airbus aircraft for subsidiary” | NOW

Ryanair wants to expand the fleet of its subsidiary Laudamotion and therefore has discussions with Airbus, a spokesperson for the subsidiary tells German business magazine WirtschaftsWoche.

According to the spokesperson, Ryanair wants the subsidiary’s fleet to grow by a hundred aircraft. Laudamotion is already flying with Airbus, but the Ryanair holding fleet consists entirely of Boeing aircraft.

The relationship between Ryanair CEO Michael O’Leary and Airbus would not be optimal. O’Leary is known for negotiating large discounts with aircraft manufacturers. Boeing was more obliging in this regard than Airbus. Because Laudamotion is already flying with Airbus, the CEO is now prepared to sit down with Airbus.
