Ryanair halves ticket prices to fill as many seats as possible

With the planned “sales blitz”, according to the newspaper, Ryanair wants to convince particularly nervous British families – but no doubt also customers of other nationalities – to fly to the popular holiday areas this summer.

“We are going to dump prices to get people traveling again. As soon as we start flying again in July, we will sell the tickets at any price so that we can fill as many seats as possible, ”said O’Leary in the British newspaper.

At the moment, Ryanair sold about thirty percent of the available seats in July. By comparison, last year this was around sixty percent. Last year, Ryanair transported 14 million travelers in July, now O’Leary expects up to five million. The average ticket price is expected to be between 25 and 30 euros.

It is obvious that Ryanair will make a loss in the coming financial year. With the upcoming price dump, Ryanair hopes to scrape as much income as possible, according to O’Leary, so that he can limit the loss in the next twelve months to “only” a few hundred million euros.

Since March, Ryanair has only performed about one percent of all scheduled flights. The Irish airline is scheduled to return to approximately 1,000 flights a day, or 40% of normal capacity, from 1 July.
