Russian Missile Attack on Ukraine: January 23 Strikes and Casualties in Kyiv and Kharkov

Missile attack on Ukraine on January 23

On the morning of January 23, an air raid alert was announced throughout Ukraine. The military reported launches of cruise missiles from Tu-95MS strategic bombers from the Caspian Sea region.

A series of powerful explosions were heard, in particular, in Kyiv and Kharkov, and the work of the air defense forces was reported.

In Kyiv, as a result of the attack, cars caught fire and a fire started in a house.

According to Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko, 7 people are currently known to have been injured as a result of the morning attack on the capital. Most of them are in the Solomensky district. Six people were hospitalized; one victim, a 13-year-old boy, was treated on the spot by doctors.

In addition, in Kharkov, as a result of Russian shelling, the entrance to a residential building was destroyed, and people are under the rubble. It is also reported that there is no electricity and partly water in one part of the Kievsky district of the city.
