What preceded:

The fact that Iran is preparing to provide Russia with up to several hundred drones became known back in July 2022. Since that time, the Russian army has been constantly attacking Ukraine massively with Iranian drones. Already in August 2023, the American newspaper The Washington Post received internal documents about the work of a plant for the production of Iranian drones in the Alabuga special economic zone in Russian Tatarstan, which is planned to produce 6,000 Shahedi kamikaze drones by 2025. The Wall Street Journal reported that in exchange for relatively cheap and effective drones used to attack Ukrainian infrastructure, Russia is supplying Iran with cyber weapons, including digital surveillance equipment. On the night of December 7 alone, the defenders of Ukraine destroyed 15 of the 18 Iranian Shaheds launched by Russian troops.
