More than 2,800 Ukrainians brought to safety

More than 2,800 people have been evacuated from particularly hard-fought areas in the east of the country. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Vereshchuk on Telegram. According to this, around 2,500 refugees arrived in the city of Zaporizhia in the south. About 360 came from the hard-hit port city of Mariupol. According to Ukrainian information, Russian troops are said to have previously fired on several buses near Kharkiv in the east. There is talk of seven fatalities and 27 injuries. Meanwhile, a high-ranking official at the US Department of Defense supported information from Kyiv, according to which the sunken Russian warship “Moskva” was hit by Ukrainian missiles. The Russian side said the ship sank after ammunition detonated on board.
