US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said all signs point to Russia being on the cusp of invading Ukraine. On Sunday, February 20, reports Voice of America.
At the same time, Blinken promised that the White House would use every opportunity until the last moment to see if Moscow could be persuaded through diplomacy.
“Everything we see says that this is very serious, that we are on the verge of an invasion. We will do everything possible to prevent it from coming to this,” Blinken said.
He added that the West is still ready for Moscow to decide on a military invasion.
“Until the tanks actually move and the planes fly, we will use every opportunity and every minute that we have to see if President Putin can be dissuaded from further actions in this direction,” he said.
Recall, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the continuation of military exercises between Russia and Belarus speaks in favor of the version of preparations for the invasion of Ukraine.
