“Russia and Indonesia Plan Friendly Match to Strengthen Sports Cooperation”

Teams of Russia and Indonesia can hold a friendly match.

Indonesian Youth and Sports Minister Dito Ariotejo met with Russian Ambassador Lyudmila Vorobyeva yesterday in Jakarta.

Ariotejo, who had just been appointed to his post, spoke about the plans of Russia and Indonesia to hold joint sporting events.

“There are two events to which Russia wants to officially invite Indonesia as part of the celebration of the national day of sports (perhaps we are talking about the so-called “athlete’s day”, which is celebrated in Russia annually on the second Saturday of August – Sports.ru). We will cooperate in sports and esports.

Russia wants a friendly match between Russia and Indonesia. We will first discuss this with the Indonesian Football Federation, but I hope that this will happen,” Ariotejo said.

The last time the Russian team played was in March. Then the team of Valery Karpin played two friendly matches – with Iran (1:1) and Iraq (2:0). Reportedthat the national team can play two friendly matches in June.
