Russell Wilson’s Next Destination: Pittsburgh Steelers Favored, According to Sportsbook
After spending two years with the Denver Broncos, Russell Wilson is set to leave the Mile High City. The 35-year-old quarterback received news from the team that he will be released when the 2024 league year begins next week. With his departure imminent, speculation is rife about where Wilson will land next. One sportsbook, DraftKings Sportsbook, has weighed in on the matter, revealing the odds for potential destinations.
According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Pittsburgh Steelers are the frontrunners to acquire Wilson, with odds of -200. This means that a $200 bet would yield a $100 win if Wilson indeed takes his first snap of the 2024 season in a Steelers uniform. The Las Vegas Raiders come in second with odds of +275, followed by the Atlanta Falcons (+475), New England Patriots (+800), and Minnesota Vikings (+950). The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1,800), Washington Commanders (+2,000), Tennessee Titans (+3,000), and New York Giants (+3,000) are the only other teams with odds of 30-to-1 or better.
Interestingly, prior to the announcement on Monday, the Broncos had +600 odds to retain Wilson. However, it seems that the odds have shifted in favor of other teams as the Broncos’ chances have diminished.
In addition to Wilson, DraftKings Sportsbook also lists two other quarterbacks in its betting odds: Kirk Cousins of the Minnesota Vikings and Justin Fields of the Chicago Bears. Cousins has +1,400 odds to take his first snap next season with the Broncos (with Atlanta being favored at -225), while Fields has +1,400 odds to join the Broncos (with Atlanta also being favored at +110).
As fans eagerly await Wilson’s decision and his next destination, it is clear that several teams are vying for his services. The Steelers, with their favorable odds, seem to be the frontrunners at the moment. However, in the unpredictable world of sports, anything can happen, and Wilson’s future remains uncertain.
