Ruqaya (66-year-old Pakistani) suffers from breast cancer, complications from the disease appear, and she needs urgent eye surgery, at a cost of 22,392 dirhams in Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, but the insurance covers the costs of chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions only, and does not cover the cost of the operation. surgical.

The patient’s daughter appealed to benefactors and white hands to extend a helping hand to her, and to help her secure the amount required for the surgery, so that her mother’s condition would not worsen further and she would lose her sight.

The daughter said that she lost her father in 2009, and became the only breadwinner for her mother and siblings, as she worked in a private sector facility with a salary of 8,000 dirhams, from which she paid the rent for the house, and met the requirements and basic needs of the family in terms of food and drink.

She added: «In 2011, my mother felt swelling and bloating in the right breast, discharge from the breast, severe itching, crusty ulcers, and a rash around the breast, so we took her to a private clinic in Sharjah, and after the doctor examined her, and conducted tests and analyzes, he recommended that we transfer her to Tawam Hospital, to ensure her health condition.

And she continued: «We took her immediately to the emergency department at Tawam Hospital, and all laboratory tests and analyzes were returned, revealing that the results of the examinations and x-rays had breast cancer. Since that time, her health condition began to deteriorate, and the life of the whole family turned upside down.

The daughter said: “My mother received treatment sessions for 30 days, until her health condition improved, so her doctor developed a treatment plan for her, starting with radiation and chemotherapy sessions for a period of time determined according to the body’s response to treatment. The health insurance covered the costs of the sessions, medications and prescription drugs you would need to control the disease. As a result of her constant need for my presence near her, and my keenness to take her to the treatment sessions scheduled for her, and to give her her medications at the specified time, I had to leave my job and devote myself to caring for her during her illness.

And they continued: «At the beginning of this year, my mother began to complain of side effects that made her psychological condition worse, which were dental problems, loss of taste and hearing, and she also developed osteoporosis, difficulty in digestion, hearing loss, and dark eyes.

She said, “I took her to Tawam Hospital, and after the oncologist examined her health condition and transferred her to the ophthalmology department, he assured us of the need to perform an urgent eye surgery so that she would not lose her sight completely.”

She explained that the current problem is the lack of a source of income through which she can save her mother from blindness, because she stopped working.

She said that her only concern, now, is to meet the costs of her mother’s surgery, adding that she tried to borrow the money from some friends, but she was unable to do so.

The daughter appealed to those with merciful hearts to extend a helping hand to her, and help her save her mother’s sight, before it was too late.

Insurance includes the costs of chemotherapy and radiotherapy sessions, and does not cover the cost of surgery.

The daughter’s problem is that she does not have a source of income through which she can save her mother from blindness, because she stopped working.
