Two dead and several injured in Bronx fire

Two people are killed and two others are seriously injured after a fire in an apartment building in the Bronx.

Firefighters responded to an emergency call around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

The incident began on the second floor of the building located at 1730 Harrison Avenue in the Morris Heights sector.

Four people were taken to nearby hospitals with serious injuries.

Two of them later died: a 20-year-old woman and a 60-year-old man. Two women, one 63 and the other 62, were in critical condition.

Police identified the victims as Odalys Aramboles, 20, and his father, Perfecto Aramboles, 60.

The fire was brought under control just before 6.30pm.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the fire.
