runny nose, sore throat and head. British doctors demand that they be ‘recognized’

Runny nose, sore throat and headache are i three symptoms of Covid-19 which should be added to the official list of those already known.

This is what a group of 140 London GPs is asking the British National Health Service. The British NHS says the only three telltale symptoms of the disease are fever, cough, or loss of taste and smell.

But the World Health Organization and the US health authorities they recognize other less common ones such as muscle pain and diarrhea.

Coronavirus, 140 doctors ask to extend the list of symptoms

In London, a group of 140 family doctors asked health leaders to expand the number of recognized symptoms.

They claim that many patients with more yeast symptomsi have not even considered that they can be positive and have not isolated themselves. Including the runny nose in the list, observe the Daily Mail, it would likely increase the pressure on the UK Test and Trace system.

For months, scientists have campaigned to expand the official list, after warning that it does not detect enough infections in the early stages.

Alex Sohal, a primary care physician in Tower Hamlets and honorary clinical lecturer at Queen Mary University, delivered the letter to the British Medical Journal.

The doctor explained that he often has patients with runny nose, sore throat, hoarseness, muscle aches, exhaustion and headache and subsequently test positive for Covid.

“The national advertising campaign focuses on cough, high fever and loss of smell or taste as symptoms and only patients with these symptoms can access an online covid-19 test through the NHS booking site.

“In order for a person to take a test, primary care doctors must advise patients to lie.”

Several scientists are also asking to lengthen the list of coronavirus symptoms

King’s College London scientists, who lead the ZOE Covid Symptom Study app, have repeatedly urged ministers to expand the list.

They published a study which revealed that the Kent variant of the virus did not trigger significantly different symptoms from other strains.

This means that an updated list will still cover all strains of the virus, making it easier to identify an infection.

Tim Spector, of King’s College London, said there is a growing number of positive patients with tongue sores or swollen and strange mouth ulcers.

The epidemiologist, who is monitoring the pandemic in the UK through its Covid symptom monitoring app used by millions of Brits, warned that one in five sufferers are showing symptoms that are not recognized.

“One in five people with Covid have less common symptoms that are not on the official list, such as rashes.

“In the first three days of being more infectious, 35% of people do not have classic symptoms.
