The creator of the Football Leaks platform, Rui Pinto, has already left the premises of the Judiciary Police, a police source told Lusa agency today.
The whistleblower, accused of about 90 crimes, “is no longer at the premises of the Judiciary Police”, from where he left in the last hours, in coordination with his lawyers, the same source said in the early afternoon.
For security reasons, the accused is now part of the witness protection program, he added, and is obliged to make weekly presentations to the Judiciary Police.
Rui Pinto was in preventive detention from March 22, 2019 until April 8 of this year, the day he was placed under house arrest, but in housing provided by the Judiciary Police.
