Royal visit to Thiron-Gardais, Julien Cohen wants to get involved in Châteaudun, politics … The indiscretions of the week

He has not yet officially announced it, but Vincent Lhopiteau, mayor of Villampuy, will relaunch himself in the legislative battle in the district of Châteaudun. He was already a candidate without a label in 1993 and a candidate for Philippe de Villiers’ Movement for France in 1997 and 2002. “The context is different today. There is no one on the right. The outgoing deputy Philippe Vigier (MoDem and related democrats) supports the outgoing President, Emmanuel Macron, and the candidate (LR) Élisabeth Meyblum supports Fabien Verdier, mayor of Châteaudun and president of Grand Châteaudun, analyzes Vincent Lhopiteau. I’m not saying that I am the savior but I will be the candidate of the uninhibited right and proud of it! “The mayor of Villampuy, who gave his sponsorship to Éric Zemmour for the presidential election, intends to remain “loyal. I asked for the nomination of the Reconquête! party, but if I don’t get it, I will be an independent candidate”.

Diane de France, Duchess of Württemberg, who came to visit the Thironnais.
Royal visit to Thiron-Gardais

Stéphane Bern, the animator and journalist who settled down at the Royal and Military College of Thiron-Gardais, is not only the specialist in the life of crowned heads, he is also the friend of some of them. This is the case with Princess Diane of France, Duchess of Württemberg, who came to visit the Thironnais a fortnight ago. As a friend for more than thirty years of the most famous of them but also as a resident of Ebenweiler, the German town twinned with Thiron-Gardais. This friendly visit on two counts earned her honor at a welcoming ceremony presided over by Victor Prôvot, the mayor of Thiron.

Traders come alive

After two difficult years due to the health crisis, the association of C’Chartres showcases is relaunching activities in the city center of Chartres. A race for waiters on April 29, an “offbeat” fashion show on May 6, a craft brewery festival on May 21 and the Flower Festival on June 11 will punctuate, among other things, the Chartres spring. For the first time, a plant barter should be offered in the city center during the Flower Festival, which promises many activities and in particular workshops. Because even in town, you can have a green thumb!

Political approach

The presidential election has not yet delivered its verdict, but the post-election political recomposition already fills the minds of many elected officials or movement leaders. This is the case on the right. Jean-Pierre Gorges, mayor of Chartres and president of Chartres Métropole, early supporter of LR candidate Valérie Pécresse for the presidential election, was reportedly approached by members of the entourage of Prime Minister Jean Castex. A desire to expand a potential future majority around Emmanuel Macron? Possible. Solicited by The Republican Echo, the Prime Minister’s Office did not respond. Something to watch over the next few months.

The CCMHB, little on TV

As we enter the final third of the Starligue championship, the C’Chartres Métropole Handball has only been broadcast once on TV by the rights holder, BeIN Sports. It was October 1, during the 4th day, against Toulouse. If a second broadcast is scheduled for April 8, in Nîmes, it is clear that the CCMHB is one of the least exposed clubs. Teams like Saint-Raphaël (11 matches broadcast), Limoges (10) or Dunkirk (6) are treated much better, with similar results.

“Giving a taste for entrepreneurship”

The media entrepreneur Julien Cohen wants to invest but also to invest in Châteaudun. He should sign before this summer the offer to purchase the Hôtel-Dieu to install second-hand goods dealers, artists and craftsmen there. In the meantime, he proposed to the City of Châteaudun a meeting with 300 senior high school students to “make them want to do business”. The municipality approved the idea and contacted the three high schools of the city to invite them to participate in this meeting, Thursday, May 5, at the Malraux space.

“My wife Karine, who is also an entrepreneur (Editor’s note, she runs the local transport and delivery company Coursiers.com with her husband, for which she is also the HRD), and I have been doing this exercise for three years. We meet first and final high school students, in bac pro, and students in BTS to share our taste for entrepreneurship, tell our story and perhaps encourage vocations, says Julien Cohen. We have already organized more than ten meetings in towns that we like and where there are interlocutors interested in our approach. »
