After their resignation as high-ranking royals, Prince Harry (35) and Duchess Meghan (38) must now run. The Queen (83) has convened a crisis meeting for Monday. Prince Charles (71) and Prince William (37) will also be there, reports the British media. It will be the first meeting since the Sussex couple announced on Wednesday to withdraw from their royal duties and want to become “financially independent”.

Even with her trip to Canada, Meghan could not avoid this crisis talk. The Duchess, who is currently taking care of her eight-month-old son Archie in North America, is switched on by phone.

The royals will discuss the next steps of the “Megxit” at the royal country estate in Sandringham. How much money should Harry and Meghan receive in the future? What happens to your titles? What business can the two do? Who pays should Harry and Meghan actually live in Canada and the UK as announced?

As early as Thursday, Queen Elizabeth II insisted on a “sustainable solution”. It should be worked out “within days, not weeks”.

Harry no longer part of the «team»
The whole royal family was taken aback by Harry’s and Meghan’s decision to step down. Not even the Queen had been informed of the move beforehand. The monarch was “deeply hurt and disappointed” and was seriously concerned about the mental well-being of her “fragile” grandson.

Prince William is also hit hard by the crisis. The gap between the brothers began to open when Meghan appeared and now seems almost insurmountable. According to the “Sunday Times”, the Duke of Cambridge revealed to a friend: “I have put my arm around my brother all my life and I can no longer do that.” And further: “We are no longer a unit.”
