Former child star Dawn Lyn in need of financial help for medical expenses

The former child star Dawn Lyn (60), known for having played Dodie Douglas in the sitcom “My Three Sons”. In October last year, she was affected by a tumor on her brain, and therefore had to undergo a major brain operation.

– Will probably be quite unpopular when I say this

Now she has been hit by a new crisis, and this time of the financial kind. The disease has brought with it a whole mountain of expenses. Her husband John Reese tells the opposite TMZ.

Now he is asking his fans for help.

After the brain operation last year, Lyn ended up in a coma, and a former teammate, Stanley Livingston, said at the time that she was fighting for her life.

On Sunday, the situation worsened when she fell unconscious and had to be rushed to the emergency room. According to the husband, the 60-year-old’s condition was critical, but the doctors eventually managed to stabilize her. She will still be admitted to the intensive care unit.

Struck by new cancer shock

While the first operation was covered by insurance, a problem later arose. Lyn got meningitis after she was discharged from hospital. Eight months later, she is still receiving medical treatment daily. The treatment she needs goes far beyond what her husband can assist with when he retires, he says.

The insurance should have covered two million dollars, but the couple must cover the rest themselves – a sum that is constantly increasing. He has now set up a GoFundMe where he is asking for help to pay those expenses.

“I’m just an old soldier who loves his wife. I have never asked for money before. It’s humiliating to ask for money after eight months where I’ve managed the finances with out-of-pocket payments, ambulances and specialized care,” he begins on the page.

– Was absolutely awesome

Reese writes that being in the hospital costs 8,000 dollars every day, which corresponds to over 86,000 Norwegian kroner.

Although she has come a long way since October, she remains in isolation because she is still in such a vulnerable state that she cannot be discharged to a less qualified nursing home, the husband writes, adding that it is not a fancy hospital – but a completely ordinary, public hospital.

Now she is fighting for her life

“Her goal is to be healthy enough to play a role in an upcoming comedy film when production begins in early 2024,” writes the husband.
