Rossmann tests refill stations for Henkel products in the Czech Republic

Sustainability is becoming increasingly important in times of the climate debate. That is why Henkel is now testing a new sales strategy for more environmental protection in Czech Rossmann branches.

Henkel tries in Czech Republic Refill stations for his products. This should help the consumer goods company to achieve its goals for reducing plastic, as various media report.

At Rossmann competitor dm, customers in some branches in Austria can already top up washing and cleaning agents themselves. Budnikowsky also tested refill stations in some branches in Hamburg.

Not just shampoo and shower gel for refilling

The project had already started in November 2019 and is aimed at the product groups that do a lot plastic waste cause. These include shampoo, shower gel, detergent and dishwashing liquid.

According to the food newspaper, there are a number of Henkel products to choose from: Persil detergents, fabric softeners, dishwashing detergents, shampoos and shower gels from the Nature Box brand and Fa hand soap. Customers can now fill these products in reusable containers. The associated bottles are also available in the corresponding markets.

Only a few Czech Rossmann branches take part

According to reports, the test project is currently to be tried out in Czech Rossmann branches in Prague, Pardubice, Liberec, Brno and České Budějovice. The company has so far not commented on whether there are similar plans for German branches.

Rossmann wants to be more sustainable

However, the group has been publishing an annual sustainability report since 2018, in which projects and goals for environmental protection are recorded. The most important points include sustainability at the Rossmann headquarters as well as in the individual branches, where sustainable shopping bags, packing stations or contactless payments are offered.
