Four hikers are in Tyrol on the descent from the cabinet bird when rocks suddenly fall. Any help comes too late for an alpinist from Bavaria.
Four German alpinists were surprised by a rock avalanche in the Tyrolean Alps. A 46-year-old Bavarian from the district of Donau-Ries was killed on Saturday, as the police in Innsbruck reported. The men had descended from the Schrankogel in the Ötztal in the high alpine terrain when the accident happened at an altitude of around 3,000 meters, said a police spokesman for the dpa.
A man from the group was taken to hospital with a serious but not life-threatening rib injury. The others escaped with minor injuries. (mt / dpa)
Three people died on Saturday evening in Wesel in North Rhine-Westphalia. The cause of the accident was initially unclear.
