Lewandowski, who turned 32 on Friday, missed a goal in Sunday’s Lisbon game, but ended the Champions League season with 15 goals as the top scorer.

The captain of the Polish national team previously played in the LM final only once – in the 2012/13 season, then for Borussia Dortmund. The trophy was not won then.

One goal decided
The goal of the trophy for “Die Roten” was scored by Kingsley Coman, a homegrown of PSG. Bayern Munich won the Football Champions League for the sixth time in its history.
Lewandowski joined Zbigniew Bonek, Józef Młynarczyk, Jerzy Dudek and Tomasz Kuszczek, who also won the Champions League.
In the first quarter of an hour, Kylian Mbappe found himself in the penalty area twice, but both his shots were blocked by Bayern defenders. A few minutes later Neymar had a phenomenal chance to score. Manuel Neuer, however, first deflected the Brazilian’s shot to the side, and then saved the attempt to catch the ball into the penalty area.

Bayern replied a few minutes later. The football game found itself under the feet of Robert Lewandowski. However, the captain of the Polish national team hit the post. Moments later, after the counterattack, Angel Di Maria was dangerous for Neuer’s goal. In the 25th minute, Jerome Boateng had to leave the field due to an injury. Niklas Sule replaced him.

Lewandowski had another great opportunity to score in the 30th minute. This time he hit his head, but his shot was instinctively saved by Keylor Navas. Then for a long time there were no dangerous situations on both sides. The game came to life significantly at the end of the first half.

Then David Alaba lost the ball in his own penalty area, but Mbappe missed a great chance and struck straight at Neuer. Less than a minute later Kingsley Coman fell on the other side of the field in the “sixteen” area after contact with Thilo Kehrer. Judge Dani Orsato did not find a fault in this situation. A goalless draw remained until the break.
The decisive action
After the change of sides, we had to wait a long time for goals. Finally, in the 59th minute, a breakthrough occurred. Joshua Kimmich sent the ball into the box. There was an unattended Kingsley Coman, who hit the head indefensible to Navas. Bayern was leading 1-0 after an hour of play.
Two minutes later the PSG homegrown could have increased the lead. Coman closed the action again, but this time Kehrer knocked it out. In the 67th minute Mbappe was close to scoring the equalizer for the Parisians. The young Frenchman missed the ball after a cross from Angela Di Maria’s wing. The Argentinian showed great cunning in the 70th minute of the match, when he played the ball to Marquinhos, who ran into the sixteenth. The Brazilian defender managed to fire, but once again in this match Neuer was in the position.

The loss of the goal clearly irritated Thomas Tuchel’s players. Nevertheless, their attacks did not have the desired effect. Until the end of the match, neither one nor the other found their way to the opponent’s goal. The Parisians had a great chance to equalize in the first minute of added time, but Neymar and Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting did not manage to beat Neuer, who was well disposed in this game.
After the five minutes of extra time had expired, the Italian referee ended the game. Bayern reached the sixth Champions League in its history.
