Rob Gronkowski would come out of retirement to join Tom Brady with Buccaneers

Rob Gronkowski returns to the NFL to catch passes from Tom Brady.

League sources confirmed Adam Schefter of ESPN that the New England Patriots, holders of the rights to the retired tight end, have agreed – pending Gronk’s passing a physical examination – to trade tight end rights alongside a seventh-round pick to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a fourth round selection.

Gronkowski had a $ 10 million contract year remaining when he announced his retirement following the Pats’ victory in Super Bowl LIII.

In the current offseason, Brady, the New England quarterback for the entirety of Gronkowski’s career with that club, signed as a free agent with the Bucs.

In a text message to ESPNGronkowski’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said “Pending, Rob has agreed to play for Tampa this season. He will honor his current contract at this time.”
