Ajax presented the international face of the club’s media channels on Thursday. David Butler (29) is the new ‘host’ in Amsterdam.
In recent years, Butler has achieved fame as one of the faces of community 433. He was born in the United States and lives in Amsterdam. Butler will be featured in a new Ajax program on Ziggo Sport and will provide the Ajax podcast in addition to other club activities. From mid-September it will be entirely in English.
By attracting Butler, Ajax wants to take the next step in expanding the international reach of its own media channels. “It is in line with the international ambitions of the club and the fact that more than three-quarters of the followers on social media platforms come from abroad,” the club said in a communiqué.
For that reason, the official language on most Ajax channels has been English for some time. The club also continues to produce Dutch-language content.
