In the daily update, the National Institute for Public Health and the Environment (RIVM) reports 27 new deaths and 13 new hospitalizations due to the coronavirus in the daily update.
The number of deaths is one less than last Thursday when 28 deaths were reported. The number of hospital admissions is significantly less than last week’s 27.
The number of people who have been or have been admitted to hospital has risen to 11,640. A total of 5,775 people have now died from the effects of the virus.
RIVM also reports that another 253 people tested positive for the COVID-19 virus, which increases the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 44,700. Incidentally, the actual numbers are higher than RIVM reports, because not all COVID-19 patients are tested.
The number of new admissions that RIVM reports on Thursday is one less than fourteen on Wednesday and the lowest number since the institute included the number of hospital admissions in the daily update on March 12. On March 12, RIVM reported 24 new hospital admissions.
The decrease in the numbers of newly reported corona patients, hospital admissions, intensive care patients and deaths per day shows that the number of infections has been decreasing since the end of March.
