Rising complaints about two online stores, CRPC will turn to the police about the signs of a crime – Society and Politics – News

She pointed out that the number of consumer complaints about the online stores “www.proffit.lv” and “www.korbotex.lv” is growing rapidly, because the ordered goods are not delivered, companies avoid communicating with consumers in connection with non-performance of concluded contracts and do not reimburse consumers for goods. which have not been delivered to them.

Gertmane noted that the CRPC still continues to receive consumer submissions or complaints about purchases in the mentioned online stores. Consumers have paid in full for the goods, but have not received the goods ordered or refunded, and they are misled as to both the delivery and refund dates.

She mentioned that often merchants are not reachable – merchants do not answer phone calls and e-mails. These merchants also avoid communication with the CRPC without responding to the institution’s requests for explanations.

CRPC, seeing the signs of a criminal offense at the disposal of “Kasija” and “Multi-Services”, as well as “Maku Group”, and in order to protect consumers and ensure redress, as well as to prevent and detect criminal threats, has approached the State Police.

“Currently, it is not possible to protect consumer rights against criminal offenses – a possible criminal offense – and to ensure compensation for the damage caused by a criminal offense by legal means within the competence of the CRPC,” the center noted.

Gertmane mentioned that in the online store “www.proffit.lv” it is indicated that natural persons serve “Kasija”, but legal entities or “bussiness-to-bussiness (B2B) customers -” Multi-Services “. As well as for natural persons, when placing an order on the website “www.proffit.lv”, the invoice is often issued with the details of “Mult-Services”, while in the online store “www.korbotex.lv” the goods are offered by “Maku Group”.

Upon receiving information about the problems faced by consumers, CRPC has implemented various preventive monitoring measures in relation to these online stores. In order to prevent possible attraction of new consumers in the mentioned online stores, for example, with promises to deliver the product in a short period of time, the respective sites have been excluded from the comparison portals “kurpirkt.lv”, “gudriem.lv” and “comparini.lv”, Gertmane said.

She acknowledged that a decision had been taken to punish Kasija for unfair commercial practices. In early October, the CRPC reported to the State Police about possible fraudulent activities on the part of “Kasija” and “Multi-Services”, and criminal proceedings have been initiated against these merchants in the State Police. On the other hand, as the number of complaints about the goods ordered but not received on the “www.korbotex.lv” website and communication problems increase, which also indicates the possible use of this online store in committing criminal offenses, CRPC has reported to the State Police and asked to investigate Maku Group’s criminal proceedings. .

Consequently, the CRPC invites consumers who have suffered damage as a result of the illegal actions of Kasija and Multi-Services, as well as Maku Group – the order has not been fulfilled and its purchase price has not been refunded, and the seller avoids communication and resolution of objections. , to apply with an official application to the second division of the Third Office of the Criminal Police Department of the Riga Regional Office of the State Police, requesting to recognize the consumer as a victim and request compensation for the damage caused.

LETA has already reported that at the beginning of October the CRPC warned about the activities of “Kasija” and “Multi-Services” in the online store “proffit.lv”. The center also called on consumers to carefully assess the need to purchase goods from the online store “proffit.lv”, taking into account the large number of complaints received. At the end of October, Kasija was fined EUR 1,580 and the trader was also legally obliged to put an end to the unfair commercial practices identified in the decision.
