President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) revealed that the revitalization of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) cost Rp 1.27 trillion. Jokowi also believes that TMII can become a big icon of tourism in Jakarta and Indonesia.
“Alhamdulillah, the revitalization of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, which was carried out since January last year, in 2022, has today been completed. Minister Erick Thohir, who swallowed the budget earlier, said Rp. 1 trillion 70 billion, plus Rp. 200 billion from PT Injourney, and the public. now we can visit and enjoy the new face of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah which is neatly arranged, greener, more beautiful and more comfortable,” he said Jokowi when inaugurating TMII at TMII Archipelago Park, East Jakarta, Friday (1/9/2023).
Jokowi said that this revitalization was at the same time restoring the initial enthusiasm for the development of TMII which was initiated by the wife of the 2nd President of the Republic of Indonesia Soeharto, Mrs. Tien Soeharto. In its initial concept, TMII consisted of 70% green open space and 30% buildings.
“In the afternoon, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah should now be cooler because the concept has been restored to the original master plan, namely 70% green open space and 30% buildings, and also all museum buildings and regional pavilions have also been beautified and revitalized by carrying out the concept inclusive, cultureand smart,” Jokowi said.
Jokowi also hopes that the public can enjoy the new face of TMII. A more organized, beautiful and green TMII.
“I am sure that with the new face of Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, it will become a big icon of tourism in Jakarta and of course in Indonesia,” he concluded.
