Revealed! It’s the Origin of Oumuamua’s Mysterious Object

Suara.com – Oumuamua is the first known interstellar object to pass through the solar system. Since it floated through the solar system in 2017, Oumuamua has intrigued and confused scientists.

Several researchers, including astronomer from Harvard University, said it was alien technology. While other experts suspect it is an asteroid or interstellar comet.

Now, a new theory has emerged that suggests that Oumuamua was part of a Pluto-like planet that exploded in the solar system about 400 million years ago.

“This research is interesting because we may have solved the mystery of what Oumuamua is. We could reasonably identify it as part of ‘exo-Pluto’, a Pluto-like planet in another solar system,” said Steven Desch, an astrophysicist at Arizona State University.

Since it was first discovered, Oumuamua has exhibited some strange behavior.

Observations show the cigar-shaped object is gathering extreme speeds as it orbits the Sun without showing any sign of its gas family, such as a comet.

Desch and study co-author Alan Jackson believe that in other planetary systems half a billion years ago, a collision between two cosmic bodies caused an explosive release of nitrogen ice.

The collision also threw this object into the space between the planetary systems.

At the frozen depths of the cosmos, these dense blocks of nitrogen travel and are slowly eroded by radiation.

As it enters the solar system and approaches the Sun, nitrogen will heat up giving it an increase in speed.

“This is a neat and plausible explanation, taking into account all the peculiarities of Oumuamua and this is an interesting hypothesis because it suggests Oumuamua is the first part of an exoplanet to visit our solar system,” added Jackson. CNET, Thursday (18/3/2021).

Oumuamua’s reflectivity also matches what astronomers have observed on Pluto and on Triton, Neptune’s moon, which is rich in nitrogen.

“We think that there could be Pluto in another solar system with nitrogen ice on its surface and part of it thrown into our solar system. This explains everything we see,” said Desch.

In addition, Desch added that this hypothesis dampens the theory of alien spacecraft technology.

It’s no wonder everyone thinks the first objects outside the solar system are associated with aliens, but it’s important in science not to jump to conclusions.

So far, scientists have found only two interstellar objects. Apart from Oumuamua, there is 2I / Borisov, which is believed to be a comet and was discovered in late 2019.
