Atletico Madrid get rid of Chelsea in the Champions League. Atletico coach, Diego Simeone admits that the Blues are better on all fronts than his team.
Chelsea entertain Atletico Madrid at Stamford Bridge, London, England, Thursday (18/3/2021) early morning WIB in the second leg the last 16 of the Champions League. Thomas Tuchel’s men brought the capital to a 1-0 aggregate advantage, which was obtained in the first leg.
The Blues were able to win 2-0, through Hakim Ziyech’s goals in the 34th minute and Emerson Palmieri in injury time.
The result is sure Chelsea progress to the Champions League quarter-finals, 3-0 on aggregate. They become the third England representative to qualify for the last eight, after Liverpool and Manchester City.

Chelsea did appear dominant. The hosts are able to shoot 15 shots to 10 with six on goal and three against Atletico Madrid.
Atletico Madrid despite the difficulty of developing the game, he kept on appearing insistent. In the 81st minute, the situation was hot.
Atletico defender Stefan Savic was sent off after violating Ruediger. Savic elbowed Rudiger in the chest as Atletico got a corner.
Atletico Madrid coach, Diego Simeone accept his team’s defeat with his head held high. Simeone admitted, Chelsea is better than his team.
“They are just better than us, I can’t say anything else,” he said as quoted by the official UEFA website.
“We tried to play with the top four players in the first half and put pressure on them when they played at the back. We can’t just rob the ball up high like we want,” he explained.

Atletico Madrid right-back, Kieran Trippier also acknowledged Chelsea’s victory. For him, the Blues are indeed strong in defense.
“Chelsea are strong defensively. It was a disappointing night and the best team won,” he said.
