VG updates the case.

“It is dead,” the Ukrainian railway ministry said in a statement according to Reuters about the attack. Shortly afterwards, they claim in a new message shortly after there is talk of more than 39 dead and more than 100 injured in the attack.

AFP, which has journalists on site, reports that there are also 30 dead after the attack.

The station is used as a refuge for civilians who have been evacuated from areas under Russian airstrikes.

“There were several thousand civilians at the train station when it was attacked, due to the evacuation of residents of the Donetsk region to safer areas,” Governor Pavlo Kyrylenko wrote on Facebook.

According to Kramatosk mayor Oleksandr Honrsjarenko, there were around 4,000 at the train station when the attack took place, reports Reuters. Most of them must have been women, the elderly and children.

According to President Zelensky, there were no Ukrainian soldiers stationed at the station.

– People stood close and waited for trains

Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky has described the attack on his Telegram channel.

– They lack the strength and courage to meet us on the battlefield, and instead destroy the civilian population. This is an evil that knows no bounds, and if it is not punished, it will never stop.

On Friday, he spoke to the Finnish parliament, and took up the attack in Kamatorsk here as well.

– Russian military hit the railway in Kamatorsk. People stood close to waiting for trains to be evacuated to safe areas. They met these people. About 30 have been killed and 300 injured at the moment. This is how Russia “protects” Donbass, says Zelensky.

Pro-Russian separatist leaders in Donetsk Oblast claim that Ukrainian forces were behind the attack, according to the state-owned Russian news agency TASS.

The Russian Ministry of Defense says that the rocket used in the attack is only used by Ukrainian forces, reports Reuters, quoting the state-owned Russian media RIA Novosti.

Kyrylenko says police and rescue workers at the scene fear that dozens of people may have been injured or killed in the attack.

On social media, there are pictures that are supposed to be from the train station in Kramatorsk. In the pictures you can see what looks like dead civilians lying among the remains of clothes and belongings. Next to it is luggage someone must have taken to the shelter.
