The Government of Madrid announced this Friday that, as of Monday, mobility restrictions will be applied in two new health zones (ZBS) in the Vicálvaro district of the capital and in six small municipalities. In addition, the entry and exit limitations established the previous week in three ZBS and Navacerrada are maintained and are only lifted in Morata de Tajuña. In total, there are five ZBS and seven municipalities, in which 154,000 live, 2.3% of the Madrid population. These areas accumulate 3.8% of the total infections in the region. In general, and despite reiterating its opposition to the measure, Madrid applies from this Friday, March 26, until April 9, the perimeter closure agreed between the central government and all other communities. In addition, the curfew is still in force from 23:00 to 6:00, the closure of the restaurant at the same time and the prohibition of meetings of non-cohabitants in homes continue at least until April 12.
These are, one by one, the measures in force in the region:
Restrictions by basic health zones
A health ZBS is not a neighborhood or a district, it is a set of streets that belong to the same health center. To find out if you live in a confined area or the incidence of the virus in your neighborhood, enter your street in this search engine.
– New restricted areas. From 00.00 next Monday, March 29, and until 00.00 on Monday, April 12, the ZBS of Vicálvaro-Artilleros and Valdebernardo (Vicálvaro district of the capital) are restricted, as well as the municipalities of Paracuellos de Jarama, Villanueva de la Cañada, Navas del Rey, Santos de la Humosa, Torrejón de Velasco and Chapineria.
– Areas in which the limitations are maintained. Núñez Morgado (Chamartín district of the capital), Virgen de Begoña (Fuencarral-El Pardo district of the capital), Valle de la Oliva (Majadahonda) and the town of Navacerrada.
– Zones in which the limitations are lifted. Morata de Tajuña will no longer be closed from 00.00 on March 29.
In these closed areas, the additional measure applies:
-Perimeter closure. Entrance and exit are prohibited, except for “adequately justified trips” by means of a document (here you can download the receipt to enter or leave for work reasons or to care for the elderly or dependents). Among the exceptions are going to the doctor, work or educational centers, return to the place of habitual residence, care for the elderly, minors or dependents and attendance at exams or judicial, administrative or banking procedures. Zones can be crossed and citizens can move within them. The capacity and hours are the same as in the non-restricted areas. Entrances and exits from the closed ZBS to sports centers are allowed, provided that the activities are developed by physical trainers and under medical prescription.
Measures for the entire Community of Madrid
– Easter week. The entire community is closed between this Friday, March 26, and April 9. The regional government will put in place a special security and emergency device to guarantee compliance with the restrictions, as well as to avoid overcrowding in recreational areas, mainly in the mountains and in the center of cities and towns.
– Restoration and commerce. The closing hours of bars and restaurants remain fixed until April 12 at 23.00. These establishments cannot admit new customers after 10.00 pm, although they are allowed to distribute food until midnight. The limit of customers at the tables on the terraces is also kept at six, a maximum of four inside the premises. The mask must be permanently worn, both inside and outside the premises, except when eating or drinking.
As for the shops, the shutter is lowered at 10pm. Beyond that, only those that provide essential and unavoidable services such as pharmacies, medical centers, veterinarians and gas stations can remain open.
– Curfew. It also continues until April 12 from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., mobility is prohibited, except for just cause such as going to or returning from work.
– Social meetings. Visits to homes still cannot be received until April 12, with exceptions, such as couples and married couples living in different homes or people living alone, who may be reunited with a single unit of coexistence.
– Gauges. In interior places the capacity is 50% and the bar service in bars and restaurants is still suspended. The exceptions to the general rule of 50% are: 75% occupancy in theaters, cinemas and other cultural facilities, 40% in multipurpose multipurpose rooms (such as the Wizink Center) and 75% in outdoor terraces, commercial establishments and centers non-regulated training.
