During excavation work in connection with the construction of a flood protection project in Grafenschachen, archaeological finds were recently made, which are currently being secured as part of a so-called rescue excavation.
The finds in the immediate vicinity of a burial ground that has been known for some time indicate a burial mound from the Hallstatt period. Governor Hans Peter Doskozil got an idea of the excavations in his home town together with Mayor Marc Hoppel and the head of the excavation team, Nikolaus Franz.
