Requirements for inDrive and Yandex drivers will be tightened in Kazakhstan

As the head of the Committee of the Ministry of Transport, Ali Altai, said during a briefing, inDrive and Yandex drivers, in pursuit of orders, often neglect rest and lose vigilance on the roads.

“They (taxi drivers) should not work more than nine hours a day. Abusing this, as a result, they lose their vigilance. We have 35% of road accidents precisely because of such cases,” notes Ali Altai.

A package of amendments is being prepared in Kazakhstan, which provides for liability for private road carriers inDrive and Yandex. At the same time, the Ministry of Transport announced the development of a road map to combat illegal taxi drivers. It is expected that now legally taxi drivers of inDrive and Yandex will be able to work only 8 hours a day.

Carriers will not be able to work more than eight hours. He can only be active for eight hours. At other times he will not be able to accept orders. We will actively conduct an analysis with the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the number of times he can travel,” the speaker emphasized.

In the summer of 2023, the Ministry of Internal Affairs told where the most fatal accidents occur in Kazakhstan. The greatest increase in mortality is observed in Almaty, Zhambyl, Zhetysu, Aktobe, Atyrau, Akmola, Turkestan, and Mangistau regions.
