Requirement: 12 years in prison against alleged kidnappers of Sara (17) from Haaksbergen | Inland

The Public Prosecution Service in Curaçao has demanded twelve years in prison against the man and woman who allegedly threw a Dutch trainee (17) off a rock on 25 August last year. Before that, they had kidnapped, robbed, assaulted and tied the victim, according to justice.

Sara * from Haaksberg is sitting next to her father and has a very difficult time. Shakes her head repeatedly in disbelief. Tears run down her cheeks throughout the session. Her father supports her and looks desperately into the room.

Terrible night

Sara survived that terrible night in August last year as if by a miracle. The police managed to secure camera images showing how she was forced to pin for the 30-year-old Shelomi P. and the 34-year-old female bus driver Azanahil M .. The two reported themselves to the police station shortly afterwards. Both confessed their involvement in the crimes in great detail.

Nothing else had happened

Shelomi

During the first pre-trial session in January this year, the Haaksbergse made use of her right to speak. Also now she is at the court, together with her father. But in Curaçao a victim is not allowed to speak twice.

Suspects are heard separately during the hearing. Both suspects made detailed statements in line with the victim’s statement. They promised to provide more details.

Shock

Great shock is when Shelomi and Azanahil largely retract their earlier statements. That night he was drunk and under the influence of drugs. The victim wanted to buy drugs from them, but had no cash with him. When pin failed, Shelomi took her pass and withdrawn more money than agreed. “Nothing else had happened.”

Shelomi tells the judge with his earlier confession that he hoped to be able to exonerate his girlfriend. That way she could go home and take care of their children. Anahazil reverses the same statement in order to exonerate her boyfriend.

Details

When asked by the judge how they know so many details of an incident they would not have attended, both suspects state that the police told them.

The prosecutor says that during a reconstruction, the suspects followed the entire route closely and indicated the places, up to the rocks, where they were with the victim that evening.
