The 37-year-old Republican from Colorado allegedly punched her ex-husband in the face after the two got into a fight at a restaurant on Saturday night.
Boebert denies punching Jayson Boebert, who said Sunday Denver Post that he would not report the case after he allegedly called the police as a “victim of domestic violence”.
– This is a sad situation for everyone that is constantly escalating, and another reason why I am moving. I didn’t punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. I will consult with my attorney about the false allegations he has made against me and consider all my legal options,” Boebert said in a statement.
One of Boebert’s co-workers says Jayson Boebert made an “aggressive gesture” toward her and that she “put her hand in his face, put her hand on his nose” to push him away.
But according to another description, the congresswoman managed to punch her ex-husband twice in the nose, prompting him to call the police.

Lauren Boebert is also said to have called the police to dispute the allegation of violence.

“Irreconcilable differences”
During the evening they were out at the restaurant, the ex-husband is said to have started behaving disrespectfully and indecently, the employee tells Boebert.
Jayson says he called the police Sunday morning to tell them he doesn’t want to press charges.
The Boeberts married in the mid-2000s, but later divorced in 2023 due to “irreconcilable differences”.

The divorce came shortly after son Tyler, who was 17 at the time, got a girl pregnant.
Under investigation
Jayson Boebert has a criminal record and previously pleaded guilty to “public indecency and exposure” for acts in 2004 involving two women when he was 24 years old.
Lauren Boebert herself also has a number of minor arrests behind her, including for disturbing the public and failing to appear in court.

The police will be conducting an “active investigation”.
