Report: The pandemic has not had a significant impact on drug trafficking in Europe

The European Monitoring Center for Drugs and Drug Addiction’s annual report also mentions large-scale heroin seizures and reports an increase in the production of synthetic drugs.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, organized crime groups have been able to adapt quickly so as not to experience a significant drop in drug trafficking.

“There are concerns that [Covid-19 dēļ ieviesto] “Innovative drug distribution models have been developed during the restrictions, which, together with the economic impact of the pandemic on vulnerable communities, will complement the problems already posed by drug trafficking,” the agency said.
