Mexico City- The Ministry of Health (Ssa) reported that seven states of the country have registered a decrease in cases of Covid-19 in the last two weeks.
They are Aguascalientes, Campeche, Nuevo León, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, Tamaulipas and Veracruz.
In a press conference, Ricardo Cortés Alcalá, general director of Health Promotion, said that Aguascalientes has a reduction of 13 percent in its estimated cases.
Rincón de Romos is the Municipality with the highest incidence per 100,000 inhabitants.
Meanwhile, Campeche has a 23 percent decrease.
“It is impossible to have zero cases, there will be a small number of cases, so there is always a risk of outbreaks,” said Cortés.
Nuevo León, he said, shows a two-week decline of 18 percent. It has 2,433 active cases, equivalent to 11 percent of its estimated cases.
He indicated that six municipalities of the State are going down, however, he called for maintaining distance and prevention measures.
Regarding Querétaro, he pointed out that it also shows a decrease of 12 percent.
“Cadereyta shows an increase in its epidemic and five other municipalities show a decrease,” he added.
Cortés explained that Quintana Roo has a decrease, however, he indicated that Bacalar and Solidaridad show an increase in cases.
Tamaulipas presents a decrease of 27 percent. Fourteen thousand 419 people have recovered and it is estimated that 1,331 have died.
Finally there is Veracruz, which has a decrease of 12 percent.
“In all the municipalities of Veracruz the incidence of the disease has decreased,” added the official.
