An investigation was launched after a Labrador was abandoned in a park in Vancouver, Washington.
The scene, which took place Thursday evening, was captured by the surveillance camera of a nearby house.
In the images, we can see a vehicle parked near a wooded area. A woman comes out and opens the back door to let her dog out.
She then gets back into the vehicle and then seems to change her mind.
In fact, she decided instead to take the Labrador to the woods where she left him before running back to his car.
“I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” Alyssa Ott, whose camera captured the scene, told KGW.
The young woman then went out to take care of the animal, while a team from the “I Paw’d It Forward” refuge went there.
“It’s very frustrating for us to see people doing this,” said shelter founder Keri-Lyn Jakubs.
“The dog is very nice. He only has a hip problem, but everything is fine. “
According to Ms. Jakubs, there is nothing illegal about giving up your pet like this. But the latter could have been in danger.
“There is a highway near the park. He could have been hit. ”
An investigation by the veterinary authorities is underway for animal abuse.
