Nobody wants to stop this process now, said Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann (Greens) on Tuesday in Stuttgart. “I think that we will decide that on Friday in the Federal Council.”
Kretschmann: “No special rights”
Prime Minister Kretschmann emphasized that these are not special rights for those who have been vaccinated or those who have recovered. “We can no longer withdraw certain rights from these people with justification. Even if what is not vaccinated is perceived as unjust,” said Kretschmann. The head of government in Baden-Württemberg also objected that it was not easy for the authorities to distinguish between vaccinated and non-vaccinated people when it came to exit restrictions.

The federal government had previously announced that for those who have been vaccinated and recovered, encroachments on basic rights such as contact and exit restrictions should be withdrawn quickly. If the Bundestag and Bundesrat approve a corresponding ordinance this week, the easing could apply at the weekend.
Restrictions are to be withdrawn
Federal Justice Minister Christine Lambrecht (SPD) announced that vaccinated and recovered people will no longer have any restrictions on contact and exit restrictions in the future. Among other things, they could meet other vaccinated people and if they met with unvaccinated people in family or friends, they would not be counted. After traveling, they do not have to be quarantined – unless they are coming from a virus variant area. Vaccinated and convalescent people would also be treated equally and would then no longer need a corona test for a visit to the hairdresser or the zoo, according to Lambrecht.
The obligation to wear a mask in certain places and the distance requirement in public spaces should, however, continue to apply.
