We will meet musician and composer Reina Sējana in Monday’s “Pārmiyas”, because on October 21 at 18:00 in the “Lielais dzintars” concert hall, Reina’s and Latvian National Ballet’s leading soloist and choreographer Elsa Leimanes’ joint work “Vārna. Flight in one act” will be revived, which premiered in 2016. in the autumn of the Latvian National Opera in the New Hall.
It is a story about a man, not a crow: about the inner struggle of man, about the ugly in the beautiful and the beautiful in the ugly, approaching the dangerous and getting to know oneself anew. The crow as a symbol, as an extremely intellectually developed and beautiful bird, helps to tell this story in such a way that everyone sees themselves in it.
In the “Lielais dzintars” concert hall, this work will be performed with a symphonic scope for the first time, as the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of conductor Kaspars Ādamsons will also participate in the production along with Elsa Leimani and Reina Sēļana. The author of the play’s libretto is Lāsma Olte, and the director is Uģis Olte.
