If the forecasts on the weather reports are correct, it could be over 55 degrees.

The EU’s climate monitoring service Copernicus reported at the beginning of July that June was the warmest June month ever.

In southern Europe, it is well over 40 degrees a day.

American National Weather Service believes Death Valley can now beat its own world record for heat. On Sunday, a scorching 55 degrees has been reported in the Mojave Desert, in southern California.

However, it has been disputed that it is the hottest day on record. The Guinness World Record marked 56.6 degrees at the same place back in 1913.

Death Valley is considered the world’s hottest and driest place – and can now beat its own heat record.
