Reckless! Australian Man Uses Sheets to Escape Corona Quarantine

A man in the city of Perth, Australia, desperate to escape from mandatory quarantine corona virus (COVID-19). This man used a number of sheets that were tied to resemble ropes and mounted on the fourth floor window of a hotel that became a quarantine facility.

As reported Reuters, Wednesday (07/21/2021), this incident occurred on Monday (19/7) evening local time at a hotel which is a quarantine facility in Indonesia. Perth, Western Australia. The unnamed man arrived in Perth on an interstate flight from Brisbane.

Upon arrival in Perth, the man was denied entry under strict Corona-related border restrictions. He was ordered to leave Perth within 48 hours and taken to a local hotel to undergo mandatory quarantine.

However, in the early hours of Tuesday (20/7), before 01.00 local time, he suddenly ran away.

“He climbed out of the fourth floor bedroom window using a rope made from bed sheets and fled the area,” Western Australia Police said in a statement on Facebook.

Police also posted a photo of an ’emergency rope’ hanging from a hotel room window on the fourth floor to the street below.

Local police managed to arrest the man about eight hours later. He was also charged with failing to comply with directives and providing “false or misleading information”.
