ANDl former playerEdwin CongoHe was arrested this morning by the police in an operation against a drug trafficking network, in this case cocaine, in which ten people have been arrested in Spain. The former Colombian player, who militates among others in the ranks of theReal Madrid,Valladolid, Levante, Sporting de Gijn or Recreativo de Huelva, and who was now a collaborator of El Chiringuito de Jugones, was detained by the Central Narcotics Brigade and released after declaring, within the framework of an operation that is still open.
Edwin Congo (Bogot, 1976) arrived in Spain in 1999 from Once Caldas, in a transfer of around 5 million euros, at the time one of the largest in the history of Colombian football.
