“Ready Or Not” Ver 1.0 Update: Comprehensive SWAT AI Improvements and New Features Released

The design game “Ready Or Not” (Chinese translation: Yan Zhengwai), which focuses on highly realistic FBI missions, has finally received the official Ver 1.0 update after two years of operation. The most eye-catching one is the comprehensive SWAT AI update. Strengthened, the official emphasized that the behavior of AI is more automatic and logical, and it is no longer just a group of people blocking the door and acting as a living target for the enemy.

According to the introduction of the development team VOID Interactive, the SWAT AI design has been guided by military experts to more accurately restore the behavior of realistic attack scenarios. For example, when searching on the street, the team no longer just stands in a row, but can be changed into a formation according to needs. , also know how to duck immediately when the player draws his gun, and will also monitor each other for potential threats downstairs and upstairs when going up and down the stairs.

By the way, AI movement will now avoid corpses or wounded people lying on the ground, instead of stepping over them without mercy.

In addition, in the past, the behavior of “Ready or Not” in breaking through the door was hard to describe. It was often blocked at the door, or the AI teammates did not help cover it at all when the door was opened, resulting in a bye as soon as the door opened. Nowadays, this has been greatly improved. .

The AI will now automatically adjust its position according to the space around the room environment, and players can automatically switch positions as long as they are close to the AI, eliminating the possibility of getting stuck in each other’s positions.

When breaking a door, the cover method will be adjusted according to the method. For example, after using a breaking hammer to open the door, the AI behind him will automatically step in to give teammates time to put away the hammer. If a grenade gun is used instead, teammates will keep an eye on the door to avoid missing the door. Once fired, the enemy has already fired; of course, players can also choose to break the door themselves, and the AI will also know how to provide assistance in conjunction with the timing of the door opening.

Different from ordinary shooting games, after breaking a door in “Ready or Not”, you often do not face a fierce gun battle, but search everywhere in the room like a cat catching a mouse. In the past version, the AI would only enter slowly one by one. It is easy to cause the entire moving line to get stuck.

After the revision, officials stated that the AI will enter the room in a left-right cross pattern, making the movement more efficient and more in line with the actual behavior of real armed police forces. In addition, because the enemies of this game have learned cunning behaviors such as pretending to be dead and hiding in cupboards in previous versions, teammates in Ver 1.0 have also added new search actions and will remember to check for enemies that may be lurking under tables and chairs.

At the same time, when encountering some small rooms that are too crowded, AI will also know how to determine the number of people suitable to enter, and will no longer force everyone to squeeze in, causing the entire flow of traffic to be completely blocked.

If you really encounter a gunfight, after the revision, teammates equipped with shields will automatically stand at the front to help tank. Unlike in the past, you had to give orders (usually people were beaten into a honeycomb before the order was sent). . Not only that, if the battle is fierce, teammates also know how to change the weapon from a single shot to a semi-automatic burst. If the magazine is empty and the enemy is still running around, they will immediately switch to a pistol instead of changing the magazine.

If the player is accidentally killed, in the past version, unless it was multi-player cooperation, the game would end directly. However, in the new Ver 1.0 version, players can choose to watch the monitors on their AI teammates and continue watching them fight against the gangsters. There is no longer a mandatory ending, but the game will be considered a failure regardless of whether the final mission is completed or not.

Last but not least, the new version adds a push-to-car function. After the mission is completed, all the captured hostages, suspects and other characters can be sent to the car. It should be noted that in version 1.0, if you shoot hostages indiscriminately, your teammates will immediately execute the player.

The game team also specially recorded 9 additional voices and 18,000 new lines, so that in addition to basic voice feedback, the AI characters can also begin to speak according to the scene conditions.

“Ready Or Not” Ver 1.0 has been officially launched, and players can now experience the update to see if the AI is really as flexible as officially emphasized.
