The Union Syndicale Solidaires de Côte-d’Or wishes to react to the article published today by the Good Public on the “ village »From Dijon. It should be noted that our union supports the employees and families accommodated in their procedures and that the situation must immediately change.
We would like to indicate the legitimate demands of the employees and of the families accommodated, namely:
- Disinsection of all housing and living areas.
- Deratization of the entire site, as soon as the cats have been treated and evacuated in a dignified manner, without mistreatment.
- Immediate hiring of employees to complete the team.
- Upgrading of the premises to accommodate people with reduced mobility.
- Maintenance of washing machines in lodgings for hosted families.
- Immediate reimbursement of 10% of income for families who have had to pay them, over the last two months.
- Dignified and law-abiding management when animal deaths are to be deplored on the site. By this demand, we ask you not to follow the recommendation made by the hygiene services of the city of Dijon during their last visit: “The dead cat, you throw it in the trash.” We remind you that this offense is punishable by a fine of € 3,750.
- We ask that the burials of cats in what the person in charge of this site call “the cemetery” cease, this also constituting a crime.
In view of the situation, if it does not evolve quickly and favorably, we will put in place a union response equal to the challenges.
In addition, we wanted to come back to the comments made by the Director of the Departmental Directorate of Labor, Employment and Solidarity (DDTES) in the article of the day. It is absolutely not understandable for a representative of the State to say “ that it’s better to have a roof than nothing at all “When you know the hygiene and reception conditions of the site, or even to pronounce” that there are people stopped, like everywhere “.
