Raspberry Pi Foundation releases keyboard with built-in computer – Computer – News

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has presented the Raspberry Pi 400, a keyboard with a built-in computer. The hardware is comparable to the Pi 4 presented last year. The product should make the small computer more accessible for beginners.

From Raspberry Pi 400 appeared on the manufacturer’s website on Monday. The computer has the layout of a compact keyboard with 78 or 79 keys depending on the region. The ports are located on the back, including two Micro HDMI ports, a USB-C connection for power supply and some USB-A ports for accessories. There is also a microSD slot and a 40-pingpio. An ethernet port is available for wired internet.

The keyboard computer runs on the same Broadcom BCM2711-soc as the Pi 4, but the four Cortex A72 cores in the Pi 400 come up to 1.8GHz instead of 1.5GHz. The keyboard houses 4GB Lpddr4 memory, while the hardware supports WiFi 5 via 802.11ac at 2.4GHz and 5GHz. The product measures 28.6×12.2×2.3cm.

The Pi 400 costs $ 70 separately, while a kit that includes a power cable, HDMI cable, microSD card with OS on it and a physical copy of the Beginner’s Guide should cost $ 100. The kit costs around 101 euros in the Netherlands.
